Business in the Mines

The miners' sunless, underground life has bred countless needs, so merchant caravans stream into the mine in a steady flow.
They mainly sell clothes, fruit, and entertainment goods such as books.
Yet the mine's market is almost entirely monopolized by these caravans, with hardly any independent peddlers. The caravan leader must negotiate with the Blackstone Legion, maintain smooth relations, manage and coordinate the merchants, and issue access permits—most importantly while avoiding interference in the mine's internal affairs.

It is no easy role, and anyone who can shoulder all of this must be extraordinarily shrewd and capable.
