A Merchant's Complaints
A journal entry of messy scrawls, filled with complaints and self-mockery. It recounts a nightmare as though it were a catastrophic business failure.
I'd bet my life that no one on this entire continent is more miserable than I am.
I work like an animal all day, and at night, I still have to haggle with my own dreams.
In my dream, my stall is piled high with goods, all dazzling and shiny, but nobody's buying.
They just crowd around and look, saying, "None of this is real." Then, in the blink of an eye, all the goods are gone, leaving me naked behind the stall.
...I hate dreaming. It's worse than getting haggled down.
