Fake Clues

Treasures are rare and hard to come by, and whenever one is found, it means there's one less to discover. Due to the sheer number of treasure hunters, competition is fierce among them. Some devious treasure hunters will deliberately create false clues to confuse the others, distracting them with nonexistent fake hoards.

"You hear? There was another one that got tricked recently!"
"Who's the unlucky one this time?"
"That arrogant, stuck-up guy from Byrnhald... I heard he ran off hunting, so sure of himself, only to get his backside handed to him by a boar! He came back covered in injuries and vowing to track down the culprit who tricked him!"
"Must have been embarrassing for him. That's what he gets for always looking down on people... I'd say he deserved it!"
"You better keep your voice down! People get pretty riled up about things like this... I mean, sure, the guy isn't well-liked, but... let's just keep this between us!"
