Tower of Sand

After surviving Edred's ambush, Sabine took the lethal blow meant for you. Although her life is no longer in danger, she was left with severe lingering effects.
Her memory is periodically wiped; everything after entering the Gloomy Depths is erased. Even more cruelly, she forgets the very fact that she suffers from amnesia. Sabine can only record subsequent events in a book, remembering and forgetting over and over again.
It is like building a fragile sand tower, alone in a strong gale.

Nonetheless, she continues to fulfill her duties as a guild leader. Everyone knows she is no longer capable, but no one has the heart to stop her.
Gaston sent a commission regarding this, hoping a return to the scene of the incident might help her amnesia.

Afterwards, three remnants were found at the scene:
—A stone that had melted and solidified, indicating extreme heat.
—A pinch of an unknown white powder, clearly artificial.
—A cufflink belonging to one of Sabine's deceased subordinates, which proved she had indeed been there.

These clues awakened a sliver of Sabine's memory, but it seemed to be blocked still; the harder she tried to recall, the faster she forgot. Severe headaches signaled the imminent return of her amnesia.
However, one thing remains constant: her dedication to the guild. Sabine did all this to protect the guild she painstakingly built.
In the end, she voluntarily handed over the seal of authority, asking for it to be passed on to Gaston to keep the guild running.
After making this decision, her memories vanished once again...
