Lost Diary of an Intern
An intern's diary filled with elegant handwriting. The pages give off the scent of herbs and spices. It's unknown why it was left here.
...The creatures in these ruins feel exceptionally smart.
When I went out to gather herbs, I casually looked up and saw a flock of birds circling in a spiral, so orderly it looked as if someone was directing them.
At that moment, I suddenly remembered something Clement had said: all things in this world think and speak. Mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas are constantly singing, we just cannot hear them.
He even gave a bizarre example, saying that a flock of thirty-one sheep and a flock of thirty sheep are two different entities; what they think and say are completely different.
He also told me he'd once seen foxen circling something, and as they circled, they formed a very regular pattern.
At the time, I just thought he was letting his imagination run wild again, but now... I think he would be very interested in everything happening here.
Unfortunately, he went to the valley for research.
When things wrap up here, I must go find him and tell him everything that's happened. Maybe he really can give me an explanation.
Yeah, I think I'll do that.
...
That strange dream again.
In the dream, I heard a lot of noise outside, so I pushed the door open to look and found a traveling troupe performing in the ruins, with everyone laughing.
Then, a Fagaro approached, leaned in very close, and said something vicious to me—
I woke up with a start.
I was so scared, I forgot what he actually said.
But I clearly remember: on their foreheads was printed a terrifying spiral, exactly the same as the spiral the flock of birds had formed during the day.
