The Truth Beyond the White Paint

The relationship between the artisans and the Creed hardened over the contraband incident. The Creed tried to squeeze more information out of the artisans, while the artisans couldn't grasp what exactly the Creed wanted.
The stalemate didn't last long, however, as the artisans found something close to an answer in Articles 23 to 25 of the Creed's reports. What the Creed truly cared about was actually the Vision-Sharing Society, a mysterious organization claiming to cooperate with the artisans to create Legacy-modified goggles capable of sharing vision and making holographic remote calls.
But to the Creed, this was complete nonsense. Technology like telepathy had always only existed in Divine legends.
While the artisans repeatedly stated that it was nothing more than a commercial gimmick and that the entire affair had nothing to do with them, it was clear from the Creed's actions that they never truly trusted the artisans. This also explained why the Creed showed up so quickly after seeing the artisans' reports on the clockwork chicken experiment.
In the end, for the sake of self-preservation, the artisans chose to disclose some technical details off-the-record with the Creed. The misunderstanding was resolved for the moment, and the contraband issue seemed to come to a close.
However, this truce also brought a swift end to research on the Uncertainty Storm...
Like a thick coat of white paint, the tacit silence between the priests and the artisans temporarily covered over most of the indefinite unease between them, but it also painted over the silhouette of the truth.
